I love this post, by IDEO. There is something about designers finding and solving problems that brings me deep joy.
Designers and policymakers in government spend a lot of time making public services better, simpler and more accessible. And they do this very well.
I would love to see what would happen if we were to use the collective intellectual might of these people to try and solve bigger systemic issues in society like Immigration, Policing and Emergency Response (which all feature in IDEO’s list). I think this is where we’d see the true benefits of bringing design and policy together.
Sure, I’d also like to see something done about razors and remote controls too, but let’s start with the really important things first.
